About Royal Touch's Owner, Rachel Royal

Rachel is the owner of Royal Touch Project Solutions and a Project and Finance Manager for the North Carolina Equal Access to Justice Commission. She received an associate's degree in Paralegal Technology from Carteret Community College in 2017, as the Paralegal Technology Student of the Year, and graduated from Charter Oak State College in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in General Studies with a Concentration in Legal Studies.

Rachel has been a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal since 2017 and a NALA Certified Paralegal since 2021. She worked in-office in family law, insurance defense litigation, and municipal law before branching out as a full-time freelance paralegal and project manager in 2020. Throughout her legal career, she has volunteered for statewide pro bono projects, has volunteered as a group leader for a Legal Aid project, and has been involved in multiple committees with the NCBA Paralegal Division since 2015. She has been a council member and Secretary for the Paralegal Division and was Pro Bono Co-Chair from 2018 to 2023.

Rachel contracted as a project coordinator to manage multiple projects of the North Carolina Equal Access to Justice Commission beginning in 2021. Some of those projects included the statewide Driver's License Restoration and Housing Stability Projects, as well as the launch of the Wake County Legal Support Center. She has contracted for multiple other law firms and businesses since 2023, including the Utah State Bar Access to Justice Commission and Charlotte Legal Initiative to Mobilize Businesses, to assist with the development of case and volunteer management systems, financial processes, and other process improvement.

When Rachel is not working, she enjoys weightlifting, taking road trips and hiking with her husband and sons, climbing at the local rock gym, and beach days on Topsail Island or Fort Fisher. She loves experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen and enjoys historical dramas and a good book.

The legal services gap exists when clients of limited means do not qualify for free civil legal services/representation in matters affecting their basic needs by a legal services provider and cannot afford to retain an attorney. The nominee shall have demonstrated how their innovative approach has helped close this legal services gap for these clients of limited means..."
